Losing yourself in a conversation and finding your way back

I'm sure all of us AD/HD people can relate to this. The funniest part of is that to the neurotypical listening, they already knew at what point you got distracted and may have trying to point it out all along and we're often still clueless, especially when we're still trying to figure it all out on our own.

The irony of distraction is you get distracted from knowing you're distracted. The confusion it causes may lead to jumping to conlusions and by that point, the person... [Read More]

It never ends
May 28, 2016 - 2:40 AM - by Free to Fly
I actually am getting close to paying off some bills. My kids calls and yes its legit, not a scam, I know where she is, and she needs a bunch of money loaded to her card so she can get released from the hospital. I have the $$$, that is not the issue, and I know she is good for it, always pays me back....but dang it frustrating. RANT.....if I wasn't paying $1197.58 for my medical coverage......I wouldn't be so danged stressed.....

Husband and I both have ADHD... children
May 25, 2016 - 3:24 PM - by hopefulLiz
Hello,
So my husband (age 25) was diagnosed w/ ADHD as a young child. He has always held jobs, but has trouble paying attention and focusing and being driven with things. I (age 26) strongly believe that I have ADD, but was never diagnosed. I have all the symptoms and have trouble functioning, but am wary of meds which is why i haven't pushed the diagnosis, but might have to at some point. I also have a sister with relatively high functioning autism. Other than the fact that we are... [Read More]

I managed to turn this day around for the better
May 25, 2016 - 1:58 PM - by Jacksper
The last days I did not feel great, but somehow I managed to pick myself up and now I can say that the last six hours were great! I was in what I describe as "Gold mode", a state of mind during which everything seems to go easy; working, socializing, thinking and even concentrating - I felt like ADD is absent (and I don't use meds). I had some nice conversations with my colleagues, did some chores at home, I exercised, I did some reflection/planning and updated my to-do application with the... [Read More]

Mother may have adhd
May 25, 2016 - 10:23 AM - by Daughter101
Hello first I myself do not suffer from ADHD. My Mother I believe does which is why I am here looking for advice.

My Mother mentioned in passing once that she has mental health issues at play that cause some of her day to day issues. When I asked what she meant she vaguely implied ADHD.

I need advice as to how to approach my Mother with some issues she has had for her ENTIRE LIFE. Her problems have progressively gotten worse over the years and I feel now is... [Read More]
