How to stop thinking and just sleep |

I've been having a problem for many years. It takes me hours and hours to fall asleep, then I wake up in the middle of the night and find it hard to get back to sleep.
Lately, I thought the problem was because my mother stayed up and watched TV. When I told her to turn it down she would, but even on it's lowest volume I can hear it. God bless my hypersensitivity to noise.

To treat ADD, or to not treat ADD?
I have found, that I use ADD as an excuse. Because once I start thinking I have ADD, everything doesn't get done because I feel like I need to get treated before I can do anything. So I am victimizing myself, and it's not good.

Does anyone know if there are any special places that offer some sort of parenting workshops, where your children come along?? Someone mentioned to me that they knew a friend who had been on a long weekend with her daughter, and they both learned more about the disorder and how to tackle it!

Just before I write any further please know that none of what I'm about to say/ask is intended to offend any particular person and it's merely a question and an small observation.
Has anyone noticed that people with just ADD/ADHD are or appear more successful than those who have ADD/ADHD and Co Existing conditions??
