Since I was younger I can still remember waking up in a certain position as if I was doing something like homework and when I woke up I thought it was real and would wonder where all my stuff was that I thought I was using til I realized that I had to be a dream. I'm unsure of how often this occurs but my best friend who I share a room with says that I'll be sitting up talking but I'm asleep. Now here's the scary part. I also will find myself doing something whether it be laundry, listening to music or sitting at the computer and I go into this what I call a fantasy world where I am me doing realistic things and interacting with people that I'm familiar with in a familiar environment. When it's over I don't feel confused or anything, and I'm aware of who I am, where I am and what's going on like normal.

Apparently what happens is when this happens I am unaware of it, but other people around me will see it happening and will say something about me talking to someone that's not there or doing something wierd. Then I'll feel awkward and embarrassed. I have talked with my doc about this and we've ruled out the possibility of it being a mental problem. Parasomnia is also possible since I am sleep deprived from caregiver obligations. Has anyone else experienced this???
