I was just browsings the site a bit...and the classes they offer...a little of everything...and some of the sciences...they offer intro to chemistry and intro to biology and anatomy and physiology....I SUFFERED through these classes when I took them at my regular college....how I would have LOVED to go to a school geared towards ADD and taken these. I can only imagine the types of strategies for learning they have in place for classes such as these...especially anatomy and physiology....

So, this is a good college? Does anyone here go there? How is it different from other colleges and classes? I know it's geared towards LD and ADHD, but exactly how? Do they have summer classes?

Sorry, I know, lot's of questions. I'm just having a hard time at my college and am thinking of getting some hard classes out of the way this summer and thought that might be an option. Thanks!

My friend when there for about a year and a half, immediatley following high school. There are many aspects of the school that he loved. However, it is outrageously expensive, even compared ot most expensive private collleges. Its tutition is at least 42,000 +. It's been awhile since I checked the exact tutition. He was only able to aford it because of the money he won in a moderate lawsuit. However, he was hit by a car in his second year and it was not financially worth going back.

Yeah, the price is why I'm only applying for the summer session!

Yeah, the price is why I could never go there. I was really looking into it, considering I am about to fail out of my second college and I'm only a freshman, but there is no way I could afford that. I was also looking at Muskingum College in Ohio though. Their website for their LD/ADHD program is http://www.muskingum.edu/home/cal/plus.html
They also have a study skills sight. I'm not sure if anyone has posted it on these forums before but there are a ton of tips. Go to http://www.muskingum.edu/%7Ecal/database/

Well, I got into the 1 month study skills session (which is only $4300 as compared to the actual semesters) and I just arrived today. Classes start tomorrow. Orientation was today, but I'm still not sure what to expect. The dorms are a bit grungy, but the rest of the campus seems nice and so does the staff.

So tell us hows it going. I am very curious about this school and their whole concept.

Well, they're certainly keeping me busy. I'm basically taking four classes on how to improve my writing and study more efficiently. Today the main theme is "active reading." I have some homework assignments involving that which I am supposed to be doing right now.

Do they have Summer School there?

Aside from the study skill programs they have some regular summer school, but only for students who are there during the rest of the year.

I somehow thought this was going to be easy just because it was happening during the summer. Am I dumb or what?

I'm, taking four classes on my greatest academic weaknesses: organization and note-taking, communication, and writing papers.

I have never been around this many people with ADHD before. Most of the teachers try to keep their classes on a tight schedule, but one is very easygoing and lets us go a bit off topic sometimes to see what comes up. That class gets interesting!

All the staff are nice and friendly here, so that helps.

They have been keeping me busy, and I still have a problem with procrastination which has been causing me to not start my homework until 8:00. I have been going to bed a bit after 12:00 and waking up at 7:00, and I have a feeling I go to bed earlier than a lot of people here.
A few nights ago someone knocked on my door at midnight and invited my to come down and watch TV. Now I would have liked to hang out with that person, but I do not start anything at midnight When I have to get up the next morning!

Anyway, I'm totally exausted. How I do in this course doesn't affect my GPA or anything, but I asked my parents to give me the money for this, and that buys a lot of guilt! On the plus side, my mom informs me that this finally seems to have convinced my dad that I am serious about college. He has apperently been worried that I am becoming a perpetual student because I have had to retake several classes.

How cool that people are going.

I'd just want to go for Math and Statistics courses. I need a Univ. Stat course.
