The person I live with does this really annoying thing....

I say something, anything, like "This soup is hot" or "I'm tired" or "The sky is blue" and he says "Why?" And I'll say "Because such-and-such" and he'll respond with "Why?" again.

This drives me up the damn wall. I explained to him if you want me to be angry this is one of the better ways to do it. Yet, he does it anyway, and tells me to "lighten up".

Its because an ex of mine did it. I explained this to him as well. He doesn't seem to care.

I really feel the need to get away.....Sorry just venting.

There's a simple solution to this.

Lie in wait until this person comes to you with something they really need your answer to. Spend the next hour saying nothing but "Why?" to THEM.

I think it's because this doot can't just take what you say at face value and has to question everything. This doot needs to be more understanding.

A mean thing to do back, like clammo's idea, would be, when they say something, tell them "who cares" :p
