Methylin is no longer Methylin. It will now be methylphenidate like other generics, and has been issued a new NDC, according to my company's weekly newsletter.

As far as I understand it, it will be the same drug, just branded as Methylphenidate instead of Methylin. Also, the National Drug Code will be different, but that doesn't affect end consumers.

Edit: Brand Methylin Chewables, as manufactured by Shionogi Pharm., will still be called Methylin. This renaming/rebranding applies to Mallinckrodt's brand of methylphenidate.

I've never seen Shionogi's drug, though. So I guess if you want to make clear that this forum is for chewable tabs only, we could do that too.
