Crockpot Chow Mein

4 oz. can mushrooms
1 1/2 lbs. cubed round steak
4 stocks celery
2 med. onions
1 c. hot water with 3 bouillon cubes
3 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 lb. can Chinese vegetables
2 tbsp. cornstarch and 2 tbsp. water

Cook on high 8 to 10 hours in Crockpot - 1 hour before serving add Chinese vegetables and cornstarch and water.

I double this recipe due to the fact that I have an 8 quart slow cooker. Most models are 4 quart.

Also this recipe has went over well at office parties and family reunions.

8-10 hours on HIGH?? Won't that turn everything into mush? I do a roast in 4 hours on high, and everything falls apart at a touch. Should that be LOW for 8-10 hours?

I sooo want to try this, but I don't want it to turn to crap.

LoL..yeah if you added the vegetables and cornstarch at the beginning it would turn to mush.

Re-read it hon..it says: 1 hour before serving add Chinese vegetables and cornstarch and water.

Also you can add frozen Chinese Vegetables although cooking time will slightly increase. I'm not exactly sure about the amount of time due to the fact I usually just test them with a fork and take out one of each vegetable and test for consistency of the bite.

Hope this helps. ;)
