I just recently started a new job and my doctor's name appears in the list of who to go to book. However it says that I need to get prior authorizations for Mental Health/Substance Abuse Services.

Under the Mental Health/Substance Abuse Services it says:

Outpatient treatments require a treatment plan
Psychological testing
Substance abuse programs

Does the above sound anything like I need to get a prior authorization before I see my psychiatrist?

Call the insurance provider and explain your situation. They should be able to give you some guidance.
