I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar experience with AD/HD meds.

So far, I've tried two AD/HD drugs -- Strattera and Adderall (both regular and XR). In both cases, the first dose that I took made me feel remarkably differen from "normal." I felt (in both cases) very calm, alert, and focused.

Unfortunately, subsequent doses never recaptured this effect.

All I can assume is that these were placebo effects. IE, I wanted the meds to work so badly that I "thought myself" into a mind state that was more focused.

This means that it's possible for me to achieve this state without meds -- which is a good thing. IF it really was a placebo effect, and not just some weird drug effect.

Has anyone else had this; where the first dose had a dramatic effect, but never again going forward?
