Hi! I'm new here. My name is NaTasha and I am planning studying abroad in France next year with AFS.

I take Adderall and I'm afraid this might prevent me from going. As far as I can see it is illegal to take amphetamines into France, but I'm not sure if having a prescription would make any difference. I thought about asking my psychiatrist to switch my medicines, but I believe for AFS you have to be on your medication for a certain amount of time.

Here's the Medical Evaluation Policies: http://www.afsusa.org/documents/site_6/category_94/AFS_Medical_Evaluation_Policies.pdf?1284399572

Anyone go through anything similar??

Will I have to stop taking my meds completely?
I am willing to accept this as a last resort, but when I am off the meds I feel tired for much of the day, and I don't want this to ruin my trip.

Anyways, and help would be vastly appreciated:)
Tasha

I'd say get the forms you need filled out now, and be up front about it.

I don't know how possible it would be to get your prescriptions filled out there, as I stopped taking meds 13 years ago and I was in France 11-12 years ago.
