What is the general consensus of drinking while on dex. I am talking about 2 to 3 beers etc not getting plasterd. I would like to be able to have a beer with mates.

thanks.... :)

There should be no problem with dexedrine and alcohol in moderation. Dexedrine will not alter the effects of alcohol.

I'd double check that. When i got my pills, the person behind the counter told me not to mix dexedrine with alcohol.

Yes, but the person behind the counter is usually clueless :-) I've read up on this topic since I tend to wind down from the days meds with 2 beers.

The anti-meds people have been trying to make a connection but they just can't. I have seen doctors try to make a case and lose steam after research and sheepishly admit there is no problem. The only thing you should not do is take them at the same time. (which would be pointless anyway)

I've read that it can be dangerous to try and get plastered while on Dex, as it acts as an inhibitor to the effects of alcohol. If you drink too much, you won't feel the effects, but your motor skills will still be impaired. I've found that taking Dex can be good for when I go clubbing, as I can drink a lot and I still feel a bit buzzed from the alcohol but I can dance all night. I don't drive when I drink, so I'm not sure how much it impairs my judgement, but one time I didn't think I was so very drunk and then tried writing a phone number on a sheet of paper and I could barely read my own writing...so there you go.

I hate to say it, but. What if I plan to get drunk? Should I not take my dex? How long should I stop before drinking?

I don't drink all the time, or very ofter for that matter. But it does happen from time to time.

The first time I tried drinking with stimulants I had incredible euphoria. That has not been reproduceable though. I agree motor coordination can get really messed up with the combination in excess. In moderation it should be no big deal though.

I've gotten really plastered "on purpose" many times while on Dex, lion. I haven't had a problem except for the times when I was tired but my Dex was hiding the fact. Not long ago I had a very bad experience where I went out one Wednesday night after not sleeping the night before and having a very heavy workout that morning. I had taken my Dex later in the day hoping it would keep me going. Things were going fine, and I did about 5 straight shots of vodka before going to the club, usually I need to drink about this much to have a proper buzz going, and I'm usually fine.

After about an hour and a half I started falling asleep as I was sitting with my friend at the bar, the bouncer told us we had to leave and suddenly I had to blow chunks. I usually have a pretty strong stomach and barfing is rare for me, but there I was running to the bathroom.
The bouncer was a total pr**k though. He actually came INTO the girl's bathroom and was knocking on the stall I was barfing in yelling at me and my friend that we had to leave. I guess they didn't want a "scene" at their club, but he was the one making a scene out of it.

Anyways, moral of the story is, don't try and use Dex as a substitute for proper rest if you're going to do some heavy drinking (or any drinking at all, for that matter). Go to sleep :p

Like drinking coffee in an attempt to "sober up", dexedrine will have pretty much the same effects - drinking and taking dexedrine will basically make you a wide awake drunk! One serious concern with regards to drinking while taking dexedrine is food - drinking on an empty stomach is not a good idea, and it's pretty easy to skip a meal while taking dexedrine, so I'd be very careful to have something to eat.
