Hi there, I know I have a lot of anxiety..but also a lot of hyper/random thoughts. I get distracted easily, and bored easily. I try to stay organized, but am always forgetting and always losing things. I'm always late for class or school in the mornings. I always feel so mentally exhausted!!! :( I get really bad headaches, and I feel stressed because of all the anxiety I get plus all of the random thoughts. For example: My teacher had on a green sweater: my thoughts went from thinking of green grass, to the Earth, to a video game I played before, to another video game once played before.. idk! It makes no sense. I'm not bipolar, I'm actually scared of those kinds of mental disorders... I fear insanity, is all. It sucks to have such an intrusive fear, but it's always there, nonstop, to add onto the random racing thoughts I've always had. I'm not depressed, ever either. I mean, maybe around my period or when I feel hurt or sad, but not like a mania, then depressive state kind of thing. I'm just mentally hyper, is all. I always have been. I think of the most random things ever! I'm always focused on everything around me, and my thoughts seemed to get disorganized, which distresses me because I always forget what I was just about to say and I end up sounding like a babbling idiot when I talk. I hate being so unorganized and forgetful of time and things people told me to do, also...because I end up getting yelled at for it later. /: I'm just always told I'm lazy and spacey and blonde. lol...but I honestly have to ask people twice or three times what they say because I lose focus too easily! /: any advice???

What is your dx? Are you on meds?

Welcome to the forums!

It sounds like you have a lot of symptoms that sound like ADHD, but there are a bunch of things that can cause ADHD-like symptoms. You need to see a specialist to get a diagnosis.

Meanhwhile, you can look around the forums for things that might be helpful or interesting to you.

Hope you get some help soon!

What is dx? sorry, idk much I'm new to this! D: lol. I'm also not taking anything buy vitamins at the moment, and hyper forum. (I think that's what it is)
and, I went to my Counselor today, and she went through the list of ADD tendencies, and said I definitely qualify for that including anxiety. I have mild OCD, General Anxiety, and ADD. Also, she said I seem depressed over all of the stress I have. So yeah, she's going to talk to my psychiatrist about this, and I'm going to do Therapy.

Greetings and welcome to the forums!:D

I just wanted to say 'yeah that' to what my fellow mod Pechemignonne said. It's possible that you do have ADHD. Getting a diganosis will certainly be able to determine if you do.

I do want to say that I can relate to your frustrations and the symptoms you describe. Getting organized and trying to keep track of things is a huge struggle for me. I always feel like I have to work twice as hard as everyone else just to get the same result. :( And that mental fog is so annoying! I can't get anything done when my head is 'cloudy' :o

I hope you find your answers soon!

Great, so is your psychiatrist going to evaluate you, then? Because I don't think your counselor is qualified to give a diagnosis. Good that you will get therapy, that always helps!!

Also:
DX = Diagnosis
RX= Prescription

Thanks, guys. I believe therapy will work, and it's good to know I'm not "crazy." D:

Well, my psychologist works in a building with a psychiatrist that isn't mine, but she specializes in ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, and Sexual Issues. She is able to go through an evaluation with me, but no she did not diagnose me. She said this is what she thinks I have, and she's going to tell my psychiatrist about how I have ALL of the things she listed.
