I have suffered from insomnia for about 2 years now. I find when I am out in the fresh air I have been able to fall asleep earlier, than if I stay inside all day. I am still having bouts of insomnia, where it's after 3 or 4 a.m. when I finally lay down. Then I can't wake up. I know I can't be alone. How about the rest of you?

I'm starting to get that way again. When I had a regular 8-5 schedule (back when I was working, sigh), I didn't have that problem. Yesterday, I didn't get to sleep until 2:30 a.m. and woke up sometime after 4 pm. :(

I am going to talk to my doc about it the next time I see him. That is, if I rememeber, hehe.

I PREFER life that way... if nothing ever stopped me from doing it, I would stay up until 5 or 6 every morning...

7.6 hours of sleep a night...so I am only up late on nights that I am going to get up later the next day.

That said, I've been up to 3-4am a few times lately, and gone with 6 or 4.5 hours of sleep instead of 7.6...heh. Not too abnormal for me, though, being a student and all...

@ clam: Me too, but that kinda doesn't work very well with the concept of having a job, paying bills, etc.

always trouble off and on with insomnia my whole life, passed on from grandmother and daughter seems to get it from both sides of the family (her paternal grandmother also)

doesn't seem to relate to any specific crisis or stresses, just the way I am

tonight's looking like one of those nights

last six months or so I wake up just about every hour on the hour
dreaming is nectar of the God's to me- doesn't happen very often and feels great when it does!

average about 5 hours top on a very good night

no one ever died from lack of sleep I always say

I've had insomnia my whole life, but it didn't start effecting me too negatively until I was 11. It doesn't matter what time I lay down or how exhuasted I am, it always takes me 2.5 - 4 hours to fall asleep. Then I wake up before the crack of dawn, and just kind of lay there in a daze if I have nowhere to go.

I average 4 hours of sleep a night. The past few weeks though...ugh...more like 2 or 3. I feel like I'm half dead most of the time now.

isn't insomnia a result, for some, of the start of meds for adhd. i am hoping so, and that it will pass, because i never really had it before, and now i'm up til like 3 am every single night.....or shall i say morning. plus, like i said in another thread, if i take the med my doc prescribed for sleep, i can't get myself up and moving in the morning. it's like i'm in a complete fog. i can't even walk right!
