SEROQUEL EFFECTIVE IN TREATING ACUTE MANIA IN PHASE III TRIALS
Two Phase III trials of AstraZeneca's Seroquel for acute mania associated with bipolar disorder found 48.1 percent of subjects treated with the drug achieved a response, compared to 31.3 percent of those on a placebo. The trials involving more than 600 patients are among the first to evaluate Seroquel as a monotherapy.
