I'm on 20 mg. of celexa right now and have seen improvement from being on 10mg. But I don't feel right, I feel like something's missing. I still have those distracting insistant negative thoughts badgering me inside my head, just not as bad since the up on the dosage. Lexapro was so much better, insurance can be a drag sometimes.

So I figure what I'm feeling might have to do with celexa, and that maybe I need a higher dose. Does this sound right to anyone out there? I also wanted to know what dose other people felt worked and how high can you go on celexa?

The other thing I was thinking that could be contributing is that maybe my adderall is wearing off...or my body is starting to tolerate it causing it not to work as well. The only thing is that I just started it this summer...Julyish, is it possible to become tolerant of a drug that quickly?

Thanks.

It's not surprising that it isn't working for you. I know you posted before that you just switched from Lexapro to Celexa because on insurance. 10mg of Lexapro is supposed to be equivialent to 40 mg of Celexa.

haha wow, are you serious? Well no wonder. Thanks. I see my doc tomorrow, hopefully I can get back to being more normal again.

Hi, I take 40mg Celexa a day along with 20mg Wellbutrin. The wellbutrin was added after I had been on Celexa for over a year. I'm doing fine now. My Dr. said some patients have been known to pass through a "thereputic window" on some antidepressants. When I was on Prozac for a couple of months I felt terrific then suddenly I just dropped back into depression and the Prozac was no longer effective.

I hope upping your Celexa dose helps you overcome the problem you are experiencing. However, I know from experience sometimes we just need to travel the long road of the process of elimination until we finally find the one that works for us. Good luck. :)
