Some members have asked, what the titles mean under their names.

As you post more and more messages, you "climb" the rank ladder. With the exception of Site Janitor, Site Admins, and Moderators, ranks are symbolic, and identify those members that have contributed to the forums, and to what degree.

Thus, ranks like "Senior Member" or "Senior ADDvocate", as examples, do not have anything to do with the age of the forum member, but rather, indicate that a member has reached the minimum number of posts necessary to have earned that title.

Yes, thanks Andrew. I was one who asked. ALL OF A SUDDEN, I saw "guru" under my name today and I nearly freaked....I thought someone had switched my religion on me or something without my permission:)

David: I know what they are:) Would you like to know? Just ask Tara....she MIGHT tell you.....But better yet, why not just let yourself be surprised??? Especially if you're a "frequent poster", you will advance quickly and get new titles quickly and it will be fun to see:) Trust me on this.....:)

No problem: Looking forward to seeing more and more of your inspiring posts, David:) And by the way, out of curiousity, what is the significance of "1975"? Care to share why that was a very good year???

This is cool, but sometimes people abuse the system. At the other forums I am at, people got accused of "post padding"... making a whole bunch of "Yeah", "OK", "Me too", "Cool" posts, etc., wasting bandwidth and people's time, trying to push their way up to the next rank.

Not that I would EVER be party to such a crime. :D :D :D

True, Paul...But I haven't seen that here, posting padding that is.....In fact, I see no "competition" whatsoever....and I've been here a little while...Actually, the only type of possible post padding here that is possible, if you want to call it that, is through word associations.....where only one word is required....but I think generally people have not abused this system....

A nd no you absolutely do NOT seem the type to be a party to such a crime:D

We have tried to make the ADD Forums a very friendly environment. While discussion "strings" like "Word Association" can help increase someone's post count, as Joan has said, we have not seen anyone abusively posting or padding their post counts.

We do watch for that of course. :)
