Hi
Could someone point me to some sites that contain proof/evidence/research regarding ADD/ADHD.
I know it exists, cos I am diagnosed ADD, but I have been in alt.support.attn-deficit and there are loads of TROLLS in there who just spend all there time saying that ADD/ADHD doesn't exist.
This annoys me and the fact that I don't really know of research/proof/reports frustrates me even more, so I would appreciate any, anyone has.

What type of proof are you looking for. As far as I know there isn't too much phsyical proof.

Thom Hartman has also been doing extensive research about the conntection between AD/HD and DRD4 gene. He has a new book coming out in the fall called The Edison Gene .
Most other conditions in the DSM don't have much physical proof either.
Well if there isn't physical proof, then how can I/we say ADD/ADHD exists?
Why are the speacialists/Drs who treat and doignose ADD/ADHD?
I find this confusing.

Like many other condition we can't say for sure it exists 100%.
That's why there are so many others out there who claim it doesn't exist and why there are so many theories as to what it actually is.
I think one of the best things for people to do is to research all the different theories about AD/HD. Then they can figure out what AD/HD actually is to them.
Yeah, I just got wound up over the trolls in the newsgroup.
I mean, why the hell do these people feel so strong as troll in the newsgroup trying to disprove the existance of a condition - are they ADDers in denial :)
I think there are whole number of factors as to why some people don't think AD/HD exists. Some people do have valid points that should be looked at too. Some just don't understand and it's pure ingnorance. Some have had bad exeriences with professionals who diagnoses and treat AD/HD. Some are digusted with pharmesutical companies...
I am not being a smart *** Pap1. Its just that I enjoy the positive aspects of ADD so much that I wont let the negative parts of it bring me down.
Does it exsist Well in my mind I am completly normal and its the rest of the world that has the scewed veiw of life. Its just that there are more of them than there are of us.
This artical by a Dr. Hallowell is what opened my eyes and mind to the existance of ADD. This artical described my life to a T and I never met the guy so how could he know what I feel like unless he feels the same way.

Do spaceships exsist ?? My friends father who got his automotive and aircraft mechanical training in the airforce was going to work one day when he turned the corner in Primrose Ontario to see to his surprise something sitting 100 feet in the air hovering ther over a farmers field. There was an Ontario Provincal Police officer there and a farmer just staring at this thing. It hovered there for about 5 minuets and then took off from a dead stand still to being out of sight within 30 seconds.
It was 5 years befour Mr Bader (my friends Dad) would even talk about it.
The story I just wrote is all he told us other than at the end he stated
" I have been around all types of aircraft all my life and I have never seen anything that looked like that or could move like that."
He then said "was it a spaceship ?", " I have no proof it was a spaceship", " "BUT IF YOU TRUST THE FACT THAT " "I have been around all types of aircraft all my life and I have never seen anything that looked like that or could move like that", YOU MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION AS TO WHAT I SAW"
and he never ever spoke of it again to me or his daughter (my friend Debbie)
and after all my babaling to you I say

Yeah I agree with you 100%, I just get wound up and annoyed when idiot trolls go on and on about ADD/ADHD not existing - I take it personally, like they are calling me a liar and a fraud cos I have ADD.
I know I have ADD, that it exists, but sometimes (HA, how about most of the time) I let my emotions take over and get wound up, so I will just killfile the trolls and live my life knowing I am ADD.
