I once had a very odd experience. It happened during a time when my pills were not regulated. I had been off of them for several days then back on again.

I take 150mg Wellbutrin and 40mg Adderall.

Early one morning I woke up. Or at least I thought I had woke up. I heard someone, a roommate, putting the dishes away in the kitchen and I told her that i could do that later because it was too early to do the dishes. When she turned around her face was sunken in so I knew it was a dream.

I woke up at this point. I literally felt like I was abuzz. My brain felt like it was buzzing it was very very strange. I could hear my heart beating very rapidly and I was in a cold sweat. I couldn't focus my eyes. I was awake I could see the ceiling but my eyes wouldn't stop moving like I was still experiencing REM. When I tried to move I couldn't I was paralyzed. I kept trying to sit up but I couldn't sit up. I couldn't move my arms and I was still overwhelmed by an incredible buzzing sensation that I could hear in my head. And I could feel behind my eyes.

Finally, I shot straight up in bed I felt completely exhausted like I had just used up all my strength fighting this thing that had overtaken me. My heart was beating so fast and I was sweating profusly. I layed there for the rest of the morning wondering what had just happened.

To this day I have no idea and my doctor didn't seem to offer me any explaination either. The only thing I can think it would be is maybe my mind had awoken from REM very rapidly and my body had not yet recieved the message. I wonder how much time had actually passed. I wonder what the buzzing sensation in my head was. It felt like electricity. And my eyes I couldn't control them either. So Strange.

Has anyone else ever experienced something like this?

I'm not on Wellbutrin, but I've had something similar happen to me when I was very sleep deprived: I woke up and was completely unable to move. Google "sleep paralysis" and see if it fits. I can't tell you it wasn't a seizure, because I'm not a Dr., and I didn't feel any of the buzzing sensation you are describing or the eye thing, but I just thought I'd throw the sleep paralysis thing out there as a possibility.

I experienced the same thing two years ago or so. Just like you described, a buzzing, very electricity-like, sensation inside of my brain together with the inability to move. It went on for about 5 seconds or so. At the time, I was on a daily regimen of 5x10 mg Ritalin as well as 10 mg of Prozac.
A google search of buzzing asleep head (http://www.google.com/search?q=buzzing+asleep+head) seems to suggest that this is not too uncommon, but nevertheless very unsettling and mysterious as nobody seems to be able to make anything of it other than the usual guess that it might be a special manifestation of sleep paralysis.
