(Inspired by "Mad Libs".)

Filling in the blanks before you know the story can yield funny results, but too often, the results are just weird and not all that funny. Filling in the blanks once the story is known however, would probably be more fun for a game.

How the game is played:

1 - Quote the text that the previous poster posted, and fill in the blanks with whatever word(s) you'd like using blue text. <------ Note the sixth to last word in the previous sentence - It doesn't have to be one word. You can fill in a blank with as many words as you like. Also, you can even edit words from the previous poster's text if you'd like. Just make sure you color those words red.

2 - Write up as much or as little text as you wish to continue the story, but leave blue colored blanks for the next poster to fill in.

Example of a post:

Just went to bed. Got a lot of chicks. :)

But then the ____ went off. _________________________________________________. But make no bones about it: _______________________.

I need to some presents from the black market if only the contraband dealer had remembered
to get the drones for the missile strikebut then Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States and founder of Habitat for Humanity said it was a Jersey thing.

Then _____, the ______ of ____ said "I'm going to ______ your _____ out and _____ on your _____ then (insert any scenario here)"

Black market, Jimmy Carter 39th US president, fitting in "Habitat" and "Humanity around "for", Jersey thing.

I like your style. Absurdity = humor. You must have a wide "Associative Horizon (http://www.paulcooijmans.com/searchresult.html?cx=partner-pub-4102932647152607%3Asplyue2s7tq&cof=FORID%3A10&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=associative+horizon&sa=Search+this+site&siteurl=www.paulcooijmans.com%2F&ref=)" as Paul Cooijmans terms it.

Oh, and speaking of drones:

And go run a forum search for "mud flaps". That one's a riot too (and no, I'm not talking about this post)! http://oi46.tinypic.com/2yycsci.jpg

Thanks.

I spent like fifteen or twenty minutes or something trying to come up with something funny for your part of the story but failed pretty miserably. Better sleep would help. That, and I'm thinking this thread is going to be a little more difficult than I originally thought, so not quite as brilliant as I was thinking it was when I posted it.

I've been thinking for a while now that whenever I think I have a great idea for a thread, that I should wait a few hours and reassess to make sure I don't post a thread I might later regret. Well, it might be a good idea to type up the thread immediately once I've thought it up and am enthusiastic about it, but maybe wait a few hours before posting it in case I decide it wasn't such a good idea after all. I still think this maybe was a good idea for a thread (well it is if anybody finds it worthwhile), but realized a few hours after posting it that it was going to be more difficult (and thus less worthwhile) than I originally thought.

Oh, and I just realized towards the end of my typing up the previous paragraph that what I was saying in the paragraph looks like I was possibly talking about your thread. I wasn't.
