I am not particularly net savvy, and I have never had a messenger window pop open in yahoo. It is a screen name that I don't recognize. I closed the browser without clicking on it.

Question is, do I ignore, close, or worry about some weird internet thing?

Thanks in advance....

Do you have yahoo email or something?

Yes, I do. Use that pretty extensively, but I don't use the messenger function.

Well, I had to log back in to check on some responses, and the messenger thing didn't come up. Must have been some random weirdness. later...

Sounds like it is just part of your email. I use google, so I'm not super familiar.

Maybe this will help?

In my experience something like that is usually a spammer trying to get onto your mailing list. When you try to check the profile associated with the person you will probably find there is none.

Also, there is never a meaningful message associated with the invite, just 'so and so wants to message with you'
