I'm pretty sure it's the depression part Mel!
Supposedly what we have to be very very careful of is the downward spirals, especially after an upswing. :(--that's all I've gotten so far from other sites.
this site had the following funny though:
What is Normal?
I can't answer your question but I can help you diagnose them...this is from DSM-XV, not yet released but I am working on it...I am almost done categorizing the main disorder. Okay here it is:
Diagnostic criteria for NPD: Normal Person Disorder
A chronic feeling of normalness.
A tendency to bore others easily.
A nagging sense of constantly meeting one's goal.
Lack of difficulty getting organized.
Inability to be humorous.
Knowing how to count without forgetting what number you are up to.
An inability to be creative and intuitive, no seat of pants to fly by.
Highly stimulated by lectures, speeches, dead cockroaches and other normals.
An unbroken remote control.
A To-Do list which gets done.
A chronic interest in each or any of the following for more than a week:
Job
Relationship
Schedule
Patience
Passing Grades
Sex
Normals
A methodical nature.
Affectionately known as "Bump on a log" or "Nytol Substitute
the thing that gets me is....if that is the case.....Many People suffer from depression...not just Bipolar Why is it we are automatically classified suicidal? Kinda unfair

They never said that only people who is bipolar will commit suicide. They said that sometimes, Bipolar is a deadly condition. That is a true statement. There are many recorded accounts of Bipolar sufferers either killing themselves or putting themselves in situations where they get killed. An article about Bipolar has absolutely no reason to talk about people with Depression who kill themselves, after all, it's an article about Bipolar.
I don't believe that anyone is being unfairly spoken against here. It's a simple fact that Bipolar sometimes causes fatalities. They would be lying if they said Bipolar was never deadly.
If that truely what they meant....I wish they would clarify that instead a whole page on there website...I'm thinkin when 1st reading it as a fatality not like suicide but deadly like something else...
I dunno it just seem stereotypical and forgive my over reaction and all...hehe hence sensitivity post....But really not all Bipolar People are sucidal or put themselves in deadly situations.
