View Full Version : Adult ADD diagnosing and treatment in China. Is it possible?

I'm russian, live and study in China. Both countries are not developed, societies are still immature, so doctors don't admit adult ADD as a desease (as childish desease only, but mostly reluctantly).

Is there any chance to find a specialist or clinic who admit adult ADD and can give reccomendations and prescribe medication in China? Maybe western-educated doctors or more progressive specialist.

I'm sure there are foreigners with ADD, living in China. How do You resolve this problem? Any reccomendations?

I'm not too familiar with the laws and regulations regarding either, so please excuse me if I'm wrong in any way..
I believe most stimulant drugs are highly restricted, if not prohibited, widely in certain Asian countries...Adderall, I know, for a fact - although I am not aware of the availability or legal status in China specifically....
(I know that probably wasn't helpful at all,so I apologize - I just thought I'd add it in there lol)

I would assume that, since ADHD Isn't widely acknowledged (as you've said), the same might ring true for your area - I'll do a little research and come back to this if I can find anything helpful. I did find this, though -

The Poster seems to be in a similar predicament to yours, so perhaps it might be useful...

Anyway, I wish you the absolute best of luck in your search and with treatment - don't be discouraged if it takes a while to find the proper resources...I'm only speaking of my prescribed med and what little I know about the topic, so don't mind me. Good luck!
