I have a 10 month old daughter that is showing signs of ADHD.
Background: I have 2 siblings, a brother and a sister and we are ALL ADHD. My brother is the most severe, with my sister and I a tie.
I am a great believer in therapy and medication, and I want to start as soon as it would be benificial.
I'm just curious what types of signs a 10 months old shows.
I do believe that we are born with AD/HD.
Since there is no actual physical test for AD/HD it would probably be hard to diagnose at that young of an age.
But, in many cases there are also other co-existing condtions with AD/HD. There are also many things that mimic AD/HD.
It's probably a good idea to talk to your pedatrician about your concerns.
From what I have heard many Dr's are hesitant to put children in AD/HD medication until at least the preschool years.
But since medication is only one part of managing AD/HD there are other things that can be done too. You can begin to now to make sure your child is living in an ADD friendly environment.

Well, the more I think about it, these same signs could be just 'growing pains'. She is very frustrated with all things that she cannot do on the first try. She will get very angry and scream if something does not work. Since she is not talking, I don't even know what she is trying to do some of the time. I think I am going to wait and see if she continues to have this problem...and at her 1 year checkup, I will speak with my pediatrician!
Thank you so much for your help!
