I have found out, that the Georgia Department of Vocational Rehabilitation will pay for you to go to college if you have either a diagnosed learning disability, or if you are ADHD/ADD. Me, and my brother and sister are taking advantage of this.

So far, the Voc Rehab people have:

gotten me retested for my ADHD and my learning disabilitys with a neuro doctor.

paid tuition at a state affiliated university

bought me a computer, along with many math programs

paid for math tutoring..(can you tell where my ld is??)

helped me with time management and keeping in contact with the disability services people at my university.

Just thought that I would pass along this information.
Vocational Rehab is available to younger students as well, it will assist with learning plans, and learning aids like tutoring.

I am not affiliated with them, just wanting to pass along my good fortune!!!

Actually Florida does have a fairly large Vocational Rehab Program....several friends of mine in the Tampa Bay area use it....and in fact a good friend of mine gets her regular M.D. doctor's appointments paid for.....things take time to actually get implemented, but it's a great program....I am told in Florida as Sarah said about Georgia, that they will pay for an entire undergraduate degree for someone with clearcut goals....and not necessarily state....but Sarah a computer??? that's awesome....:)
Continued good luck....:)

Thanks for all the good wishes! My learning disability was what got me the computer, as I am using math programs to work my way through my college classes!

I hope that everyone in need checks with their state, and tries to get involved with this program. It is never really advertised, and I know that if I had been involved with it during high school, I would have done better!!

You sound really motivated Sarah..using the computer to help with mathematics needed for college...how creative.....sometimes us ADD'ers have incredible creativity when it comes to finding ways to deal with our um..shortcomings, hardships, challenges, etc. What are you studying in college?
