i think i have ocd because of things such as
-i need equal pressure, and symmetry
-feel the right amount of pressure on my fingers when touching something
-when i type on AIM or something i push enter than backspace twice then enter twice then backspace twice. and sometimes i push other keys down hard to feel the pressure
-i always right click on the corner of the mouse so i can feel it even when idont need to right click
-look at the time and think of how the numbers can relate like be subtracted and added to each other to get other numbers in the time
-push on things
-think "theres other people in the world prob doing this exact thing, well duh, do u know how many people are in the world"
-im always worrying about something like if someone is gonna be wearing the same thing or if i forgot something
-i have to know every detail about a story im being told
-if my ankle hurts when i run ill still run
like if it hurts ill still do it just till i can get it right
-i dont like when my sheets are crumpled up and they have to be smooth to fall asleep, and my clothes have to be smoothed out too
-im always scared im gonna lose someone
-numbers need to be even except numbers like 15
-when im writing and a line doesnt start right i rewrite it

Could be. I'm no doc, but some of those things do sound like OCD. BTW, they don't use the term "crazy" any more, and "diagnosing you with some wierd thing," is only so they have a starting point to help you feel better... if you have a good doc/therapist. Not much I can do to help, unfortunately, but I do think a good psychiatrist or therapist might be able to help you. Good luck.

Welcome to ADD FOrums anxious!

Pretty sure my youngest has OCD and I ran across a quiz you can take online but of course now I cannot find it.
From what I'm learning (and there are folks on Forum w/OCD that will hopefully jump in and answer your post too) it's not the thoughts that make one OCD but that you take up time with certain behaviors to relieve anxiety--you feel you HAVE to do certain rituals (if that makes sense).

Worries, doubts, superstitious beliefs all are common in everyday life. However, when they become so excessive such as hours of hand washing or make no sense at all such as driving around and around the block to check that an accident didn't occur then a diagnosis of OCD is made.

In OCD, it is as though the brain gets stuck on a particular thought or urge and just can't let go. People with OCD often say the symptoms feel like a case of mental hiccups that won't go away.

OCD is a medical brain disorder that causes problems in information processing. It is not your fault or the result of a "weak" or unstable personality.

...Obsessions are accompanied by uncomfortable feelings, such as fear, disgust, doubt, or a sensation that things have to be done in a way that is "just so."

Unlike compulsive drinking or gambling, OCD compulsions do not give the person pleasure. Rather, the rituals are performed to obtain relief from the discomfort caused by the obsessions. ...

On average, people with OCD see three to four doctors and spend over 9 years seeking treatment before they receive a correct diagnosis. Studies have also found that it takes an average of 17 years from the time OCD begins for people to obtain appropriate treatment.

So hey you're already ahead of the game you've recognized you need to seek help and saved yourself years by seeking answers/help now!!!

Before the arrival of modern medications and cognitive behavior therapy, OCD was generally thought to be untreatable. Most people with OCD continued to suffer, despite years of ineffective psychotherapy. Today, luckily, treatment can help most people with OCD. Although OCD is usually completely curable only in some individuals, most people achieve meaningful and long-term symptom relief with comprehensive treatment.

...Only when symptoms persist, make no sense, cause much distress, or interfere with functioning do they need clinical attention.

I wouldn't be too worried about the docs they really do want to help you in whatever way you are comfortable. IF you don't like a particular doc just go to a different one, they're just people too and not all of us click with each other in a positive way.

Since OCD can come and go many times during your life, you and your family or others close to you need to learn all about OCD and its treatment. This will help you get the best treatment and keep the illness under control. Read books, attend lectures, talk to your doctor or therapist,

When beginning treatment, most people talk to their clinician at least once a week to develop a CBT treatment plan and to monitor symptoms, medication doses, and side effects. As you get better, you see your clinician less often. Once you are well, you might see your clinician only once a year.

from an article about teens & treatment:
"It's just that OCD is putting these thoughts in your head and the techniques you are using to escape them is only making things worse. I think I can teach you how to take the fear out of your thoughts by confronting them and by challenging them." ..you will one day be able to say, "Okay, so I can think these things, but now they don't scare me and I don't have to do anything about them
(I'll be like a coach) I will design a program tailored to you and your particular thoughts, but it will be up to you to carry it out step-by-step.

You get your symptoms under control, and they must be kept that way. It takes ongoing work. But it does get easier the longer you do it."

Ok anxious hope you don't mind such a long post I'm just learning about OCD too and thought I'd share some interesting points I've read this morning.

Please keep in touch and let us know what works for you (or hurdles you may be trying to overcome) and post so others can learn as well, ok?

ok one last part here is a article to an OCD teen website about how to deal with your parents when you have OCD
http://ocfoundation.org/1001/oc_c120a.htm?

In short I also wouldn't know if you are experiencing OCD behaviors but if you are feeling 'anxious' ;) enough to find answers that is a very good thing!

OF all the things you listeted, Anxious, thiese are the one I relate to:
-push on things
-think "theres other people in the world prob doing this exact thing, well duh, do u know how many people are in the world"
-im always worrying about something like if someone is gonna be wearing the same thing or if i forgot something
-i have to know every detail about a story im being told
-if my ankle hurts when i run ill still run
like if it hurts ill still do it just till i can get it right
-i dont like when my sheets are crumpled up and they have to be smooth to fall asleep, and my clothes have to be smoothed out too
-im always scared im gonna lose someone
-numbers need to be even except numbers like 15
-when im writing and a line doesnt start right i rewrite it
-i need equal pressure, and symmetry
-feel the right amount of pressure on my fingers when touching something
-when i type on AIM or something i push enter than backspace twice then enter twice then backspace twice. and sometimes i push other keys down hard to feel the pressure
-i always right click on the corner of the mouse so i can feel it even when idont need to right click

If I didn't do my OCD quirks, I was engulfed in a feeling of doom and fear. I have had a diagnosis for my OCD. I don't know if all OCDers have that 'doom' feeling if they don't follow their quirks, but I know some do. I don't know if that helps or not....
By the way, Lexapro is one med that I know can make OCD magically vanish, it did for me, no effort needed on my part. It just stopped without me even having to think about it. If you're worried that you have OCD go get a diagnosis and treatment. Left untreated it can grow and worsen and really interfere with your life.

That definitely sounds like OCD...And please realize you are NOT alone. Pretty much everything you've done, things you tell yourself are deep dark secrets and are so strange and bizarre...Someone else has probably done them, and when you find out that they have it's the best feeling in the world because you realize you are NOT ALONE.

This is a time for you to reach out to resources you have (therapist, groups, BOOKS) and realize that your behavior might seem normal to you (or maybe it doesn't!), and you might believe that this is HOW your life is, but it's a condition that's beyond your control, and it is treatable with a number of different methods--behavioral therapy, medication, and cognitive adjustment...

PS. When I would park my car at my high school, I would park in the furthest corner from everyone so no one could see...I would then spend about 20 minutes walking around my car, staring into the headlight wells, trying to wedge my finger between the top of the window and the windowsill to make sure it was closed, pulling up on the door handles 15 times each, pushing down on the trunk 15 times...One time a proctor saw me and thought I was trying to break into my own car...Sigh. :)

I have never been diagnosed but I will tell you some things I od and maybe i can get some advice here.

- I can go to bed and be almost asleep and get back up to be sure the doors and widows are locked even though I know i checked 5 times or more before i went to bed.
-I can leave the house and do the same about the coffee pot or curling iron.
-I can be doing something such as reading or writing and start counting for no reason or repeating the words over and over.Example-counting how many letters are in a word like 10 or more time.
-repeat myself over and over like reminding someone of something like 10 or more times in a hour.
