My sister, like me, is on Prozac for depression and Ativan at night to sleep because of the Prozac. Anyway, she was asking me the other day, because I used to dabble in what I am going to discuss in just a sec, if it was "ok" since she is on prozac to recreationally use coke just once for new year's eve. Now, I don't really know the answer to this. Of course she "SHOULDN'T", but everyone does things they "shouldn't" do. I wasn't on prozac when I used to play around with that stuff so I honestly don't know. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge about what mixing those two might do? Or if it is normally "ok" but could possibly.......
Please let me know so that I can relay the message to her.

Coke is probably similar to other stimulants which are often mixed with SSRI's so it shouldn't be a problem. Snorting is one thing but if she is going to try smoking freebase or crack, that's extremely powerful like heroine and extremely addictive so I would definitely not do that. I don't think snorting type cocaine is very common any more so she should be sure what they are talking about.

Since everyone experiences the "medication cocktail" (mixing meds) differently then anything could happen. Yous sister might have the buzz of her life for New Years and then find that the Prozac is inneffective for the next few days as her body rids itself of that toxin. Or it may have no effect at all.
It's like anything in life, if she goes into it knowing the possible risks, she can plan to deal with whatever happens.

btw, I hear that it's best when snorting Coke to use the Classic Coke and stay away from diet......it has chemicals in it that really wreak havoc on your sinuses! :D

LOL!!! I never knew how you would really spell that. :) Oh well. I gave her all the information and I am sure that she will be fine. And actually, Paulbf, down here in AL the snorting kind is still very common and very popular as well. I don't mess with that anymore, but I know a lot of people who do.
