This is my first official post. I am the only art teacher for my school of 800+ kids. I have been teaching for 8 yrs but this is my first year on an art cart. (thats a whole topic on its own) I am anxious about the nuttiest day of the year. Tomorrow is the last day before winter break and the kids are OUT-OF -CONTROL!!!! I feel every child develops adhd at this time of the year x30= . I normally love, love, love my job (i think the best job in the world--i'll tell you all about it at a different time of the year) but between the teachers needing favors and supplies they forgot to pick up (if one more person asks for pipecleaners or a ginger bread man pattern as i run to my next class i'll freak. I'm like the 7-11 for art supplies) and the insane, sugared up kids, and the parents roaming the halls, and the principle and supervisor (who aren't much help thats another topic). I just want to hide tomorrow. Wish me luck !!
GOOD LUCK!!! Sounds like you'll need it! :)

keep up the good work, no one would be asking you for anything if you were a grouch, so you're doing something right!!
I see that exhausted look on all our teachers and supporting staff @ school the week before any Holiday and I truly hate to even say hello, because they're so overwhelmed.
Just know all parents appreciate you (well teachers like you, anyway) so many teachers are so burned out that they make horrible impressions on our kids.
Thanks for being one of the UNburnt out ones:) Really, because you still CARE enough to even worry.
Sounds like you could use some interns from the local college during these busy times.
We'll be thinking of you so please report back:)
How will you spend your relax time...keep those thoughts in mind as your goal...um after the 26th that is.

Crayons-Can not imagine being the only resource for 800 students and untold numbers of pipecleaner hungry teachers and *ahem* "support" staff!
Will be most interested to hear about some of the other issues you alluded to...
Hope your time away from "the fun house" recharges your batteries...:)
