I've been reading about the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment for
Autism for several years.

Unfortunately, even this article inadvertently points out a big problem . . .
girls are underdiagnosed.

My granddaughter wasn't diagnosed until she was 6 - in part because we
(my daughter and I) didn't know that Autism isn't always headbanging,

and partly because her first therapist didn't recognize the traits in a girl vs
a boy.

(he has an autistic son - his supervisor has an autistic daughter - she
pointed out the similarities between her daughter and my granddaughter).
