I don't know if it's been posted, but they have decided to get rid of the Aspergers diagnosis altogether and called it "autism spectrum". Rationale given on Today Show yesterday was that some states don't cover services for Aspergers but will for autism. Any thoughts? Wouldn't schools just not cover "spectrum" later on?

well I don't have AS but I've heard the only reason the DSM exists is for insurance purposes so maybe it makes sense to modify the definition so more people can get coverage?

They don't cover services for autism automatically here any more. Depends on the severity.
