Been on Dex for about a week started taking 5mg two to three times a day. Went to 10mg in AM and two 5mg spaced out over the day. All seemed to be going fine then after a couple of days I get to work and I felt zoned out like I was in a fog. Concentration went to zero and feel dulled out and I knew it . Is this normal till you get your meds sorted out as to dosage and type? Even today without taking any dex I still feel a little foggy, should I just keep on the dex and it will even out?

I'm no expert but I take Dexedrine. Please take what I say as an amateur view.

From my experience and from what I've read, meds are highly variable from person to person.

My experiences with Dexedrine is that the dose really wanted fine tuning. From what I gather it takes a few days to reach a steady state but by the time four days have gone by you pretty much have what it has to offer.

I changed my dose a lot in the beginning and found that less produced more of the results I was after.

I've read here that the good effects of Dexedrine for ADHD are well below the threshold of the stimulant effects.

Good luck with it all. Be patient. A doctor will never complain about you reducing a dose of stimulants from what I can see. You might want to try adjusting it down. I did and found a place it was best for me.

Others here with better technical background can maybe shed more light on this for you.
Cheer! Ian.

one thing i found was that taking less more oftern is better than taking more less oftern. I.E taking 10mg at lunch might zone you but taking 5mg at lunch then 5mg at say 3pm might not. At least thats what im finding, im new to dex and no expert but ye.

i take 40 mgs of dex and i have ad"h"d and get the "paradoxical" effect from it and it does slow down my rapid thinking and at first it was zombie like had the same with ritalin and adderall but dex is the smoothest
