Hi guys , i havent been around to post, some of you probaly like that, due to the long posts LOL. But anyway, Its about 9months on adderall already. Started on 10mg 2x day, to 20mg 2x day to 30mg 2x a day , to Dexedrine 15mg 2x day for 15 days , and had to be switched back and the doc did give me 90mgs
I must be honest and say this drug is very effective, more soe than any medication. BUT in a good way, even though its schedule II and has potential for abuse and im an addict, mainly opiates ghb. Never into speed or cocaine. But anyway, iv recently bought that book my Danial AMEN who is doing spect scans and i believe is affiliated with amen clinic.
There is other drugs i would like to try but in reality i dont want to ruin any positive results. Alot of my problems wer etrial and error, SSRIS seem to be given out to much where more dopaminergic methods should be sought and researched. Esp onses which boost the Mesolimbic DA which allow more activity in the preforntal cortex.
I tried ritalin and felt too anxious and speedy. BUt his was a while back. I dont really believe in welbutrin or even staterra for ADD. I guess alot of doctors, dont want to give any possible addictive meds to an anddict. WHich is understandable but i told my doctor what im feeling and what i tried in the past. A p-doc actually would not give me anything except ssris, Gabatril and Neuronitn. Nothing. THe only SSRI that worked to take depressive thoughts away was zoloft. But for 5 yrs, every doctor never properly diagnnosed me, esp with ADD, it was always depression , thats it. No explaination. Some would give me xanax which can help alot for panic attacts but i dont get those any more. But only at like 1mg a day.
Personally, i think most sufferers from add dysplay different yet sometimes slight differnece. Iv been reading alot from some real great topics on add, and addiction and meds. Boy it really can get complicated. Esp when you are also taking supplements. But once I received adderall, I noticed alot of chances, mood, energy, no lethargic feeling, ( example, i cant stay on my computer for hrs and hrs, where i never used to barely do 1). I was also worried about drinking and using and partying. It sorta changed my negative thinking! ANd yes i felt the inital adderall kick and boy did i get a bit scared when i started to go away, but from posting and reading, I was put at ease when this is basically what happens but your add doesnt come back. So far so good. Then i tried taking this and that to boost it, but no luck.
ANother thing is welbutrin is not like adderall because for a fact, welbutrin ceases smoking cravings where adderall makes me smoke a bit more. ANd causes less anxiety. IM going to post something pretty interesting from amens book in another forum, im not sure where. But to wrap this one up, you may go threw alot of docs or meds and finally find one that helps but dont expect to be high, esp for people with addiction. But i can say that I dont ever get high, but a scence of well being, non stimulating motivation, a decrease in depressed mood and definately some joy in what I like doing. I can spare a few nights up for the positive effects of adderall.
