Hi!

I'm new here and I'm posting even though I don't have a diagnose.
If anyone of you wonders why; it's because in Sweden, where I live, the time you have to wait to get an appointment is very long, over one and a half year.

Hope you understand.

hey, you're welcome here......no worries;). I have to say though i am just bowled over by the wait time for an appointment! that's just terrible! is it because sweden has a national healthcare policy or what? i just can't imagine feeing certain i had adhd, wanting help, and then having to wait so long for it!!!!!

Thanks for the welcome. :)

I don't really know why it's like that. I think a reason could be that Sweden hasn't come such a long way as, for example the U.S., in recognizing and treating ADHD, at least in adults.

Also this is only one team who's diagnosing all different kinds of neurological disorders, and the evaluation is very thoroughly. It's estimated to take about 40 hours over 5 weeks.

wow:eek:!!!! so there is no one you could see beforehand to at least get some kind of acknowledgement of, or advice on your symptoms. it certainly sounds like this doc will be doing a very thorough assessment, but maybe you could find someone else in the meantime?

Yes, I have an appointment with a CBT-therapist, who reportedly is familiar with ADHD, on Monday. She was actually recomended by the evaluation team.
