I don't know if anyone else is interested in this ((If you are - feedback would be greatly appreciated)) ....

But I think it would be nice if you lovely Forum Guru's could add a section for AD/HDer's that are interested in eco-friendly/natural ways to do things like housecleaning ... and whatnot. (or at least a DIY section for those of use that like to make our own stuff) It could be put in whatever section you deem appropriate.

Heck - I would even Mod that section of the forum if you wanted.

Dunno. Just a thought. If you like the idea - let me know ... if you don't Cool.

i think its a good idea, not everyone agrees that going on meds is a good idea and natural methods of copeing are sure to help many people.

We have a whole treatment/management section that includes other forms of treating/managing ADD besides medication.

I was speaking a more of a eco-friendly hobbies kinda thing ... making your own lotion, shampoo, lip balm, candles, cleaning agents .... and so forth.

What does this have to do with supporting people who have ADD?

Please keep in mind, that this is *my* point of view (POV) ....
I believe that giving those with AD/HD other outlets of expression, like DIY suggestions, help build self-worth and accomplishment. It helped me, and I thought it might help others on this board.

Giving healthy or eco-friendly alternatives to the same hum-drum life. A means of self-treating by changing one's life/surroundings.

I understand if no one else see's it the same way that I do - and I won't be hurt if my idea gets tossed into the can. :p

Thanks for the time regardless.

I think housecleaning tips would be a great idea..already I have a suggestion for those procrastinating ADDers....if yourhouse is really really messsy....
Before any of these suggestions...turn on your favorite music

First one:
Make sure you have about an hour to do this in
Take a deep breath
Tell yourself it isnt as bad as it looks
Put everything else out of your mind and stop worrying
Make sure you are by yourself also
Kitchen and bathroom is most important
Go to one room and make it yours
Stay in there until you are finished
Break, potty, drink some juice, or smoke a cig...whatever you do to take a break and make it only 5 minutes or less and repeat

Another great way is this:

Find an object on the floor and take it to the room where it goes
Find an object on the floor of that room and take it to where it goes
You will be going in circles, but I find it less boring and more fun. Sooner or later, your house will be clean if you are just trying to straighten up.
I find this the most stimulating to my "I'm on a roll" notion because it creates alot of change and I myself get bored if I am in one room for a long period of time.

LOL

I think it will help in creativity to be less of a procrastinator. It could also be therapeutical for most people.

How about posting this sort of thing in the "miscellaneous" sub-sub-forum of the recipe sub-forum (in the creative endeavors forum)? Maybe the admin would consider adding a hobby sub-forum under creative endeavors? But I'd start by posting your "recipes" for lotion, shampoo, candles & whatnot in the misc recipe sub-forum. I'd be interested in the recipes, but I'm skeptical that there will be enough of an interest to warrant creating an entire new forum ...maybe the misc recipe forum is the exactly perfect place to post this type of thing.
