Is it ok for your child to still take their daily chewable vitamins when they are on adderall?

I take my vitamins before I sleep, best to take when the adderall is out of the system. Some say take it one hour before you take adderall or 2 hours after.

That's probably something you should ask the pharmacist.

Remember that citric acid reduces absorption. I'd imagine the multi has a heavy dose of Vitamin C.

I take my vits with dinner, and then take a B vitamin in the morning with the adderall.

Does anyone know if there are any multi-vitamins with low amounts of vitamin C (like, maybe only 100% of the DV)?

Does the form of Vitamin C make a difference?

I'm a relative newbie to Adderall, but I usually take my vitamins at night (or whenever I remember.)

Might be wise to supplement some magnesium citrate at breakfast with the Adderall or any other stimulant medication.

And also, magnesium oxide has a higher bioavailability than citrate does.

For anyone interested in various forms of Magnesium and their relative absorption/bioavailability, check out this site:

From what I've read, a good choice may be magnesium ascorbate. It not only is a highly-available form of magnesium, but it also is an excellent source of non-acidifying Vitamin C because it is pH neutral.

I am still unsure of whether this form of Vitamin C plays a role in limiting kidney reabsorption of amphetamine. I have yet to figure out whether it is only ascorbic acid that has this effect.

I've heard the opposite mentioned several times in literature and it seems to be rather common lay knowledge as well. Where's your source?

Here are two articles specifically mentioning magnesium oxide as a poor choice. The latter article specifically compares magnesium oxide and magnesium citrate, with magnesium citrate shown superior.

You better re-read your source, I don't believe it means what you think it means.

"magnesium oxide (MgO): 603 mg (49.6 mEq) elemental magnesium" as compared to: "magnesium gluconate (MgG): 54 mg (4.4 mEq) elemental magnesium"

Dunno...looks good to me. In either case, I rather take Memantine. You can't beat 100% bioavailability.

Expensive, and stops working eventually. For me it lasted about one week. :-/ I certainly wish better luck to you and everyone else. My experience mirrors that felt by a few others however, on the http://www.dr-bob.org/ forum.

I suppose one could cycle memantine and use it for instance during finals week.
