I know that the topic of an ADD dating site came up in another thread. A member of some ADD groups that I belong to is planning on starting an ADD dating site in the near future. I don't have details but I will let you all know more when I hear more about it.

Well, I would say that it has to be monitored and moderated very well....and no personal phone numbers given out at all....unless two people who might meet on the service agree to it.....Perhaps have a chat room along with it.....Definitely a place to post your picture....people like to see what people look like!:) No last names used at all....Have it be reaonably priced.....and at the same time Tami I realize this must be costing you money....anyone else have input, ideas and suggestions????

First of all, THIS IS A GREAT THING, Tami!!

I think each person should maybe specify their ADD type, Hyperactive or Inattentive or whatever. I don't know if this should be listed under their screen name or on their profile.

Gender should also be indicated near screen name because you can't always tell by the name.

Good point and I think age should be under screen name as well....

I'm not single, but here's my 2 cents... it's great to say all this information should be available on people, but wouldn't it be better to make it optional? A lot of people aren't comfortable leaving all their biography out there for John (or Jane) Q. Public to root through.

Ultimately Paul.....as soon as this thing gets started.....the information people choose to provide about themselves.....will be optional.....and monitored as well.......for appropriateness.....

Yes agree with you.....a lot of people aren't comfortable leaving certain facts about themselves....and they won't have to.....:)
Good point.....

wow this is a good idea!if i could find someone who knows what i have had to deal with all my life it would take away all of the pressure (ie low self esteem ect).my suggestion would be when this finally set up is to have a geographical area so you could find someone close.they say long distance relationships dont work:mad: .possibly a tri-state area section and so on.i would love something like this:D

One warning to you all, from experience:

If you think living in a house run by one ADDult is disorganized, wait until you have two of them interfering with each other... :D :D :D

Grin try living in a house with One confirmed ADDer (me)

and one linear thinker (bank managment career) who for the longest time didn't understand ADD

She does somwhat now (whew)

Paul, you have to admit, it takes an ADDer to understand an ADDer! I know from my own experience too that three hyperactive individuals can make life hectic for the inattentive one :D

HI ALL the site is still under construction. Its really alot more work that I ever anticiapted. It will have several different things on the site, dating, friends-chat, message boards, maybe a joke section, more like an online community. Im very excited.

THis is still in process- im soooo sorry this is taking so long. Its hard to get other people to get their parts done. Seeing that this is created by ADD'rs its a tough job. You can email me any time for updates, or any suggestions you may have. I totally would apreciate it!!!

Hi Tami!
It would be wonderful just to have a place to go to to indentify others like you in your own little corner of the world that you can talk to and feel at home with. Zany times/ romance a bonus, of course!
Thanks so much for all your efforts!

I did my own research on this because I really only get along with other ADDers in close relationships. There are some PHP dating site modules that can be purchased... they are a bit spendy at 500 dollars but could be paid for by registration quickly.

All my dates with non-ADD women have failed. They construe my openness as an attempt to get in their pants and my humor as odd, they can't follow my topic shifting and they think it is odd that I want to invite them back to my place to color with crayons :) Geeze maybe I am even too odd for ADD women :(

So hurry up! ;-)

Maybe we should just suggest a match-up section on the forums? It could support the forum financially speaking and maybe see some of the nice people in the singles thread hook up.

They won't color with you? What a shame. That sounds like the perfect date. You need to find someone with the same high standards of entertainment as yourself. No, I'm not being sarcastic, just in case my sincerity was lost in translation.

See THAT is what I like about ADDers! They will come back and color and laugh... there does not NEED to be more than that. It is the perfect date! I swear, when I arrange play dates for my kids, I am so envious, lol!

That is what we need..."play dates". Love springs from the stuff without expectation so much better!

Oh yeah, A dating forum would be cool... although most people on here seem to be from the midwest...very few Oregonians here...sigh

I can imagine that long distance dating is a challenge, but...

maybe an ADD dating forum would attract more members.
