I have been taking Prozac and Dex for 2 1/2 months now. Diagnosed in May with ADD after being treated for depression for a few years. My Psych. felt that treating the ADD as the primary cause for my mental state would be our course of action. We started 20 mg Prozac and 10mg of Dexin the am and 10mg in the pm. I styed oin that dose until early June. Then we increased the Dex to 20mg in am and 20mg in afternoon along with the 20mg prozac. I have been feeling alot better sine the increase in Dex. I went to my psych on Friday and told him that I have felyt better though was concerned that I felt more stimulant "driven" than from happinesss. Anyone else had this feeling?

I told him I would like to feel happier and more content. I explained to him that I have found myself alot more active and doing things that I like to do , especially gardening in my spare time and that the more I get done the better I feel mentally. He decided to increase my prozac to 40mg per day in efforts to find a balance between my increased activity and feelings of content.

Anyone out there on this combo of meds and how long before I start to feel the effects og the increased dose of Prozac. It seemed to have take a while for the effects to be realized on the 20mg. so what can I reasonably expect with the increased dose?
how much time to work since it is already in my system?

I have never been on either of these meds but I suggest making a quick call to your doctor or pharmacist to find out more.

And you might also remember Bart that how much time to work with the increased dose and what you can reasonbly expect with it -- will vary from person to person. Some people will respond to an increased dosage of their med right away, while for others it might take awhile....and the results vary from person to person as well....agree with what Crissy said as well:)
