Was your doctor concerned? All drugs can be toxic to the liver if the amounts are large enough - the liver is where most chemicals are oxydized and metabolized. Some drugs are more toxic than others. Tylenol, alcohol and many other drugs could also cause elevated levels of enzymes (? - is it enzymes that are elevated - ?). add man 02-04-05, 04:56 PM It was the enzymes that were eleveted. when i was taking the adderall I would also drink from time to time. I was also takin lortab for back pain. Could it be a mixture of all these. As for the doctor being concerened he said to wait six week to see if the enzymes come down. If they did he said I could resume taking the adderall. He did not know about the alcohol and lortab. I stopped drinking and stopped taking lortab. If the doctor puts me back on adderall I will leave it at that. Gregster 02-04-05, 05:56 PM It's more likely to be the alcohol - depending on how much you consume. Alcohol is hard on the liver. The liver itself is quite tough and is very good at self repair, as long as it gets the opportunity - that's why it takes a few years of heavy drinking to really damage your liver. Not sure how hepatoxic Lortab is - if in large enough amounts, almost anything will be bad for your liver. add man 02-04-05, 06:26 PM If I take 10mg of adderall once daily by itself will that cause liver damage. Gregster 02-05-05, 01:33 PM No it won't. Not if you are otherwise healthy. |
