Hi, I'm new here and it seems like this place is really helpful and responsive to all its users. I really like that. Anyway, so, .. I don't know how to put this, but last night, my friend gave me a prescription pill called "aderal" and I think it said 20 mgs on it. I'm ofcourse not prescribed to it but I felt like trying it out becuase people have said that it helps you focus. So after I took it, I think I started to feel like..."normal"??? Like, usually I'm the reaaaaaaally shy type and I'm very introverted, but after I took it, me and my friend went to this party and I felt like I was the highlight of the party! Most of my friends were there and like, I made more friends just by being confident and exposing myself in my new light!!? I was more talkative, happy, FOCUSED, and I even rekindled two broken friendships!
I'm currently prescribed to Strattera but I don't think it's really working out. I've been taking 40 mgs a day and then 80mgs after four days (for about 3 weeks now). I'm thinking about switching to aderal but I don't know how to tell my doctor, more or less about the experience I had with it last night!??

If there's anyone out there who can help me out I'd appreciate it very much.

I'd give the Strattera a chance to work before bringing up the question of a medication change. It may take a while for it to kick in. If you seem too interested in being prescribed stimulants, your doctor may think that you are "drug seeking". It's not uncommon for a doctor to use Strattera with younger people since the abuse of stimulants is becoming a problem - it's making it harder for everyone to fill their prescriptions! 20mg of Adderall is a fair bit - you should not be taking others meds since you don't know how you will react. A party is not a particularly good place to be trying a drug you've never taken before, at a dosage that you aren't familiar with.
Be patient and you'll a treatment that works - it will take some time, there is no way around that unfortunately.
