Does anyone have or know why I am having back pain with my adderall? Is this a symtom, because it wasnt in the pharmacy pamplet. I've been taking it for about two weeks now. It helps me so much, just the pain is getting annoying!

It could be dehydration - Adderall is dehydrating and dehydration can cause muscle pain. Drink more water and see if that helps.

You might also have back pain because you are holding one body position for a much longer period than is normal. When I am completely focused, I can sit at my desk or on my couch and work for thirty, forty minutes without moving anything but my hands (to type). I then realize I've not moved, and there's all sorts of tension in my back or neck. I now consciously "fidget" every now and again just to change position.

Good luck.

Muscle tension would be my guess too.

No matter if its the generic or the real Adderall - after you've been on it for so long and focused on one thing for so long, you tend to catch yourself in really wierd positions using and tightening random muscles for long periods of time. The most common one i have is my lower back - i always catch myself kinda hunched over a little bit but then straight at the same time, and at some wierd angle too! So yeah, if you're gonna be taking adderall consistantly for more than a day or so - expect muscles to be sore, most likely your back!

I am the same way I get shoulder and neck pain almost predictably. I can have no aches and take adderall on the way in to work (this way it kicks in right before I get to work) and with in 15 minutes of taking it I get sore and do so for the rest of the day. I'm larning to live with it sadly :( I've been on adderall for 6 weeks now.

I've been on adderall xr 25mg for about 3 months now, and I have the same problem with the lower back pain. I have had the same ideas about tension, muscle strain, not enough water, etc. I was also thinking that since I dont eat as much as I did before the adderall that I was missing nutrients and that this was causing the problem. I have been trying many things to get rid of the back pain and nothing is working. Its gotten so bad that I havent been able to stand up out of a chair. I'm headed to the Dr. this week to see if there is anything that can be done. If anyone has any other suggestions, they are much appreciated.
