I've been on 40mg/day of adderall for the past 3 years, recently I began taking an extra 5-10mg/day. Anyway I was sitting in class last week and my instructor was handing out tests, for some reason I got a panic attack..I think. My heart started POUNDING and I could feel my blood pressure go way up, I got dizzy and thought for a second that I would have to leave the room. After a few seconds all symptoms went away and I was fine (I had taken 15mg about an hour before ) Anyway now it seems that when ever I take adderall I get immense pressure in my right temple, its scary enough that Im afraid to take anymore. Im going to give my doctor a call on monday, any advice untill then?..thanks

Also I NEVER get headaches, which is why I am a little worried :(.
you are getting up there in mg's ... when I got up to about 60 in my 5th year I would get those feelings all the time . Now that I have stopped taking Adderall all that has stopped ... side effects like this became an everyday thing in my 5th year , for those of you who do not have side effects and do not need to go up in dosage you are lucky .
cadillac7 as far as advice see if your headaches go away if you stop taking it or reduce your dosage .... if it does you will know what is causing this .

Definitely talk to your doctor about this. I also had a headache scare while on meds. I take Adderall and Effexor. I think my Effexor had been increased at the time, which is what I attributed the headche to ...I also thought it might have been due to exercizing in the extreme heat & humidity (this was August in the northeast).
My "headache" felt like a sharp pebble pulsating in a vein in my right temple. My doctor checked my blood pressure --it was fine. He told me to continue with the meds for one more month. After a month, I hadn't experienced any more headaches, so I figured it was probably the heat that gave me trouble, not the meds.
BTW, I took asprin when I got the headaches. It didn't help with the feeling, but I was worried I was gonna have a stroke. Since asprin has an anti-clotting factor, I thought that would help (don't know if this is true or not, but it made me feel a little safer in the moment).

Just an update, the headaches are gone..for now. I realized that I was grinding my teeth, and that's what was causing the headaches. I do need my to have my wisdom teeth removed so maybe thats what the problem is. I've also read that this is a side effect of adderall, hopefully I won't encounter it agian. I rememberd reading how to relax your jaw and it will go away, I relaxed my jaw and no more pain!..This site is great!
