I've had acid reflux since I was a kid, and I tend to get kind of queasy when I'm stressed out, but lately...man, can't be pregnant, definitely no on that, not worried...can it make you nauseated? I'm always sick, but seems like more than usual...dad's telling me to just take a ****load of Tums 'cause I'm on the max dose of Prevacid already and lots of the others might mess with my meds or just mess with me in general I think...he didn't specifically say Pepto would be a good idea, but I've been chuggin' that stuff like nobody's business.
So yeah, just curious--does or has Dex ever make/made you feel super-sick? (Sorry, I know--strange wording...)

I have just quit taking a pretty low dose (10mg am - 5mg pm) because of similar problems. I get too anxious. I've tried to cut the dose back but then it seems to not give me the benefits I thought I was getting.
I also had quite a bit of heartburn. I hadn't thought it was the Dex but now that I'm off it I don't have the heartburn. It's still new to be off it though so I'll wait a few weeks before I pass a final grade on the stuff. I quit taking it a week ago.

Being that I only take it when I feel the foggy brain coming on , and it gives me such an exhillerating feeling of mental clariety , I have never thought about it much , but when I first started it and was experimenting with the correct dossage I now remeber the heartburn, but not the anxiety, but that might be becuase I am all alone in my truck and physically tossing garbage every 1 to 2 minuets , so I may have been working the anxiety off..
I'd be very interested in a regular update as to any changes (good or bad) if you feel like posting them

Hey, y'all! Thanks for the help!
Only thing is, I've always had heartburn from the acid reflux, and I've been an anxiety case since...I don't even know when! Forever, even as a kid!
I don't know that the heartburn in itself has gotten worse, or that my anxiety has gotten worse...I do know that I feel more nauseated and my husband has commented a couple of times that I'm being b*tchier than usual, so "what's up with that?"
Thanks for the input, guys! What's it been, now, a month and a half? Still don't know the meds totally yet, and I'm usually well-adjusted within a week.

p.s. I didn't know it was ok/recommended to take Dex PRN. Did your docs say that was ok? Or is it like a "screw the doctors, I'm doing what I want" thing--oh, yeah, like I've never done that :) --kinda famous for it, actually--they all hate that, incl. dad, and now @ my neuro appts., it's just like "Ok, have you screwed around with your Klonopin? Lamictal? What have you messed with since last time? Come on, out with it...")

when i started on dex i got real bad nausia and felt very sick alot. Recently ive been feeling sick a bit but i think thats exaustion and dehydration, possably somthing else. You might want to try like eating just before or well after your dex. Also could try coming off it for a few and see if the reflux thing improves. Also could it be the timing you take it, like mabey its not agreeing with other meds in your stomach..?
Just musings.
Garry my feet are drier and I'm not rubbing my fingers as much so it's all good so far. I got a bunch more sleep last night (early) and was razor sharp today.
Cheers! Ian.
