Through my last job's prescription drug plan I could get up to 90 days worth of Adderall through the mail.

How many of you have been able to do this? Now that I quit my job, I'm back under my father's medical plan since I go to school full time. His plan is one of the most if not the best medical plans that you could possibly have.

How would I find out if they're able to give me a 90 day supply of Adderall?

Ask your doc. With my last med benefits, I was able to get a 3 month supply. With my new insurance, I can't.

I haven't tried but I have good insurance. I doubt it, however, since it's deemed a controlled substance. For example: I can only get 30 days at a time and for a refill I have to physically get the piece of paper from my doctor; he can not call it in. I'll let you know if I can do the 3 month thing, I know my co-worker does it for his wife's Prevacid but that's a totally different drug class.

What I understoood was Adderall is a controlled drug and was not available by mail or get more than 30 days at a time. I am going to have to look into this closer.

Just got my 90 day supply in the mail today. Texas is pretty strict - perscription must be filled within seven days if issue, so I have to drop it in the mail right after I get it.

It might differ state-by-state. I think in Washington State you cannot be in possession of more than 30-days supply. I may be wrong though but I'm pretty sure this is the case.

Does anybody share the same concern I do about getting meds in the mail? Aren't you concerned about what your getting? Maybe I just worry too much..which is not an ADHD trait! I think...

Its being sent in the mail, but for me the source is the pharma company on my health plan. Its much cheaper than getting it filled outside then reimbursed, but it takes about a week.

If your saying that you are getting your meds from a company that your insurance company uses then that makes sense. I thought you meant you were getting them from one of the gazillion companies that sends out the emails advertising low cost meds! I should have known better!

A significant issue is that many Docs aren't willing to write scripts for such a quantity of stimulant medication. The insurance companies often will allow it, or even give an override if you ask, but the Docs are worried. We live in a legalistic society so it's a bit difficult to blame them.

My doctor insists on a vist every ninety days to check on blood pressure, etc. Otherwise, he won't write the perscription.
