I have had ocd for a while now, been taking wellbutrin xl 150 mg for over a year now. I still have some of these symptoms but am so sick of how it makes me act sometimes and the way its raising my anxieites/possibly causing my ocd. I told my doctor i'm not depressed and don't need to take this. He first said to double the dosage or quit cold turkey. I said, don't I need to taper off? He said 150 mg is such a low dosage, that I could just stop taking it. Is this safe? Anyone tried this?

I'd say you are safe to take your doctor's advice - 150mg isn't a large dose of Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin also has a very long half life in the body - as much as 36 hours for some of the active metabolites - and this trait makes it easier to quit than drugs with much shorter half lives - like Effexor, for example. If you have side effects related to abruptly stopping Wellbutrin - withdrawl from anti-depressants is much like the flu - you can taper off and lessen the effects. Wellbutrin is a rather easy drug to stop taking - for a psychoactive medication - so you are unlikely to have much of a withdrawl, if at all.
