I've been on Wellbutrin for almost two weeks now and so far I feel great except for the insomnia. I need to get some good sleep soon. Anyone else have this problem and if so what are you doing about it? I tried taking a natural med last night called Melatonin but then I read up on it online and it kinda freaked me out. I slept better but I woke up at about 1:30 with stomach cramps. Took about an hour to get over that and this morning I feel so tired form taking melatonin. I could go to sleep now for 8 hours for sure.
If you have any advice I would greatly appreciate it.
How much do you take and when?
I had some insomnia when I first started taking Wellbutrin. Along with some appetite suppression, it went away after a few weeks on its own. I wasn't really sleep deprived, just waking up a bit earlier in the morning, I guess.
You might consider talking to your doctor next time you see him/her. Sometimes a short-term (1 month or so) script for a sleeping med can help, and, sometimes it will just go away.
Edit: Also, you might try taking it in the morning. I found that tended to help a bit. Now, I can take it right before bed if i wanted to.
Welbutrin caused me to have insomnia right away, and it nevr let up.
I started on neurontin along with it, and the neurontin caused me to be drowsy, so I now sleep pretty good.

I had problems sleeping myself when I first started taking Wellbutrin 300 mg mostly trembles, but my doctor switched me back to 150 mg. I have been taking 2 Excedrin pm at night before bedtime. My vitamin B12 has been extremely low so I started taking B12 supplements and have been sleeping great since then. I would say give it a little more time but definitely let you doctor know about the problems sleeping.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
