Today i got switched from 54mg concerta daily, to 20mg adderal xr twice daily. Anyone else try the xr twice a day?

yes I've been taking 30mg xr 2x day but sometime I take one more because I'm a nursing student and a mom so I don't get to finish studying until 1 am. I'm looking to stop and get off them conpletely. I tried not to take it for 3 days and I crashed all 3 days. My advice don't take any more than perscribed just go to bed if you can't concentrate chances are you need sleep.

I take Concerta in the am and in the early afternoon. When I tried Adderall XR one dose lasted longer for then the two doses of Concerta do. I had trouble sleeping with the one daily dose of Adderall XR the two would have been way too much for me.

i was on adderal xr but i forget the dose, and it calmed me down but no focus. but i guess i needed to be more patient or something. but i was on it longer than the cylert and strattera and ...ritalin-that lasted one day. i felt needles coming out of my skin. almost like when they tried me on nortryptilline yrs ago for depression (i thought i was coming unglued on that stuff-i was in the middle of a finals and i thought i was going toscream in the middle of all them younger students-i turned in my test and failed b/c i wa ssimply exploding-u cant pay me to take that stuff again). anyway, my dr says he wants me to try again-i was reading "delivered from distraction" and they mentioned combination. i was on provigil beofre for narcolepsy (which after 35 yrs, i got healed of but that is a different story and i dont mind sharing if someone wants to know but i wont go into it here). anyway, i am starting cylert and provigil tomoro and my dr wants me tostick it out this time, like 3 mos, w/gradual increases. i need to do a thread on that too. i went to the adderal xr b/c i couldnt remember when to do the regular one during the day-like 3 doses or something. sorry for ramnling. the adderal seemed to be best at slowing me down (eveyone said i looked calm anyway). but i was wanting that instant focus thing to happen like i always hear about or read about (i do disability determinations so i read lots of medical stuff daily-my head explodes sometimes). i am not looking forward to the calming down effect-i dont mind the energy. i feel God gave me this energy for a reason. but after 50 yrs of the merry goround (or as i like to say, a 1,000 points of flight) i guess i need to see if i can get the focus stuff going here. good luck. i need to make a thread for my meds. if i cna figure that out that is. i have never done a thread so i hoppe i can do it. otherwise i will be emailing someone.

I take adderall XR- 20 mg x 2 daily..i take my Am dose at 6:30am and then another dose about 1:30pm... This gets me through my day with lots of anxiety lifted from my life. I always had a terrible time with exhaustion, overwhelmingness, and no focus, distractability, and nothing got done:(. I now have very good blood pressure after getting diagnosed ADHD..was concerned when so many people have complained of raised BP, as a side effect.

I have had High BP for over 20 years and I am 42 yrs old, female..and taking lisinopril for BP of 20mg and my ADDERALL XR 20mg x 2 a day and just was in doctor's office and my BP was 110/74..Cant ask for no better than that can you? My BP was always 140/100....and now has went down alot.. I inquired with my doctor about this...she honestly believes that the ADHD was overwhelming me to to the point of destruction and that my anxiety level has mellowed and in turn I have excellent BP..Thnak Goodness for Adderall XR...Its made a 360 degree turn around in my life for the BETTER in last 3 months..:) Good Luck!

my doctor just changed my script of Adderall XR from 2 30mg tablets in the morning to 1 in the early morning and 1 in the afternoon...I am not sure why but I will try it and see what happens

I'm not a doctor but my doctor explained to me that ..taking adderall xr in two separate doses..such as example, 30mg xr in am and 30mg xr in pm makes it last longer into the day...maybe your doctor thought you needed a longer dose to sustain you through your day?.
