At last - enlightenment likened to going insane.

... one can settle in to seeing the Absolute as the only valid perspective and disregarding the world of the relative because it’s all “illusion.”

There’s no hiding ANYTHING from anyone. It’s a deep deep level of vulnerability, sincerity, and self-honesty.

can't lie

the point of waking up isn’t to become more spiritual, more loving, more enlightened, or more acceptable in the eyes of God. It’s about Self-realization, about realizing who and what you really are. You return back to your natural state and be who you really ARE, that which doesn’t have to be created, manifested, or maintained.

The point of waking up is simply to put us back into the state where pure existence is enough.

As of the emergence of the mind - ego - a grasping individual is seeded characterized by the desire for money, power, stuff
- the individual needs to acquire stuff in order to float his/her boat

- upon enlightenment - there's nothing else that need be acquired - the reward system is autonomously activated.

Besides - it's generally understood by most people as they 'achieve' that there's no point in achieving - but they push on - because of reward system activation (alcoholics need alcohol) - and not because the task needs doing.

So - material world desire factors - feeding addiction (addiction reward system).
Upon enlightenment
- we lose that addictive mechanism and do not need to do anything to activate it.

Reward from simple existence.

Self awareness has as its prime function to put a person in touch with objective conscience. That puts everything you do and think in a very sharp perspective.

[1] To put it in 1 sentence - you're no longer driven to succeed = freedom.

[2] You see that 'to succeed' was a figment of the primitive reward system ie that you were only trying to get more material world factors (money, power, title, land) to satisfy that reward system (primitive reward system = love/desire as used in the phrase love/desire of money is root of all evil).

[3] Free to exist - you either exist happily or fall foul of this unprecedented materialistic/capitalistic/material world attached environment we have
- where things become more expensive by the day - whilst in parallel you become less able to motivate to earn money to pay for them.

Difficult problem is enlightenment - when enlightenment is not compatible with survival in a world where money is required to survive.

Sarek, do you think that epidemiologists should be given rubber mallets to beat molecular biologists who're insistent that genetic analyses 'll help to solve common disorders ?

I very much think we need both these perspectives in balance. There should not be those territorial struggles going on.
