Does anyone know anything about Dexedrine causing hair loss? Like if it's permanent?

I've been taking dex for a while without too many problems. About 7 months ago I increased my spansule doseage for weekdays from 20 to 30mg, so I could remain focused all day, not just the morning and first part of the afternoon. My hair line has receeded at least half an inch since then.

I think I have definetly noticed that on days where I've taken 30mg, when I scratch my head, I see like 5 strands of hair fall out every time, whereas I don't think I've noticed that happening on days of taking 20 or less.

Can anyone tell me about this?

It might just be placebo effect.

When a human loses weight at a quick pace, they tend to lose some hair...just a thought, as Dex has a way of suppressing appetite and upping metabolism, esp. when you've just increased the dosage, at least with me. I don't know, ask your doc...haven't really noticed any shedding, per se.

You might just be going through a natural hair moult. It does happen to humans as well as animals. I have extremely long hair, take no stimulants, but I really notice when I am moulting. Is there new hair growth where it has receeded? Mine is simple moult and replace with new healthy hair.

Ask your doc, but don't worry too much.

I have lost plenty of hair ever since I started taking this drug in my late teens. The only drug I take is a stimulant called coffee so it couldn't be anything else. I think we are on to something here.
