Hi there,

I have a bit of a problem. I have been taking wellbutrin for the past 6 months at 300mg XL per day and it has made a huge difference.

The thing is I have just moved from ecuador where it is not controlled to Brisbane where I need a prescription for it but apparently wellbutrin is not a recognised ADD medicine here.

My problem is that I am going to have to stop wellbutrin cold turkey in about 15 days when my pills run out, this does not sound healthy to me.

I have not yet seen a doctor as I dont qualify for medicare and want to be clear what I need to do before I go and see one as it will cost me quite a bit of meoney.

Very open to any suggestions

Thanks in advance, this forum has been a huge help to me

Don't worry about it not being recognised for ADHD here, it's used for depression. You could always make it quick & simple at the docs by stating that you were taking it in Ecudor for depression and ADHD, and show your old bottle/copy of your script.
It's not a controlled drug like the stimulants, so any normal GP can prescribe it. A GP appointment will cost you around $60.

Cheapest PRIVATE SCRIPT price I found:
$138 for 90 x 150mg tabs: http://www.ozpharmacyonline.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=38242 - $8 shipping

Chemist Warehouse: $146 http://www.epharmacy.com.au/product.asp?id=56451&pname=Prexaton+150mg+Tablets+90 - Free shipping

EDIT:
...after reading this just now: http://www.depressionforums.org/forums/topic/56021-anyone-on-wellbutrinzyban-in-australia/ ... I would not risk wasting my time or money going to see a GP. You can get Wellbutrin from online OS pharms for CHEAPER and without a script.
I have been ordering from OneMedStore for the last 2 years, they have fast postage and great customer service. http://www.onemedstore.com/prescriptions/wellbutrin/
It's only $240 AUD for 240x 150mg tabs, and no need for a doctors visit or a script. Delivery is usually 1 week for express, 2 weeks for normal.
