Hi,
I have a 12 year old son who has been on strattera for 3 months.

We started him on low doses working up and whilst it seemed to be working, I am now not sure.

4 weeks ago he ended up in hospital after having an asthma attack, which he had never had before, and they gave him copious amounts of Ventolin.

He still has a cough from this and his behaviour has gone downhill. We are back to seeing the silly, immature side of him that we have not had for some time.

His teacher at school tells us that this medication is not as effective as the concerta he was on prior. We had to take him off that due to no weight gain over a 2 year period.

So, I guess what I want to know is,
Will this medication become more effective once he is 100% healthy and should we persist.

He currently takes 36mg in the morning and weighs 32.4kg. Maybe an increase to 40mg might help? he was taking 43mg and he was very irritable and moody.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
