What is the difference beside the given of mg between 150 and 300? Do most start out at 150 and then graduate to 300? I am currently taken 150 daily and it seems to help the mild depression but no effects of concentration.

Wheezie 03-10-05, 11:43 PM nivek, i'm glad to hear that the 150 dose is helping with the mild depression. from what i can remember, wellbutrin can be prescribed "officially" for help with smoking cessation (lessens cravings for nicotine) and for treatment of depression. prescribing it as a treatment option for ADD symptoms is an off-label kinda thing. gah! my words are gone, it's too late at night to try to make sense, but, if i put posting off 'til tomorrow, it'll never happen! so, i hope you can follow what i'm trying to say.... anyway, the wellbutrin sometimes treats ADD symptoms, it didn't in my case though. if you search back through this forum, i'm pretty sure there are some posts that speak to the subject of ADD symptoms being helped by Wellbutrin. i'm taking 300mg of Wellbutrin XL and have been for a little over a year. the wellbutrin didn't help with my poor concentration/highly distractible, poor time management, and disorganisation ADD symptoms one whit! how long have you been taking the wellbutrin? have you asked your doctor about upping the dosage to try to address your concentration concerns? thanks for posting, wheezie exeter 03-11-05, 01:26 PM 300 mg is a usual target dose for Wellbutrin. The maximum recommended is 450 mg q.d. If you're taking the XL, there aren't really any steps in between (I don't know about SR, but the regular release does have a 75 mg tablet.) Wellbutrin works for me for ADD and depression. I'm on 150 mg of XL. My doctor has tried upping the dosage with me twice, once at my suggestion, and it didn't work well at all... I became irritable one time and had severe insomnia and bradykinesia (inability to move fast) the other. |
