Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice)

Ingredients

2 cups long grain white rice
Chicken stock powder
Soy sauce
150g meat (beef/pork/chicken/whatever)
2 Chinese sausages (Lup chong)
2 or 3 bacon rashes
Teriyaki sauce
1 tsp fresh finely chopped ginger
Pepper
Sesame oil
Onion
Carrots
Broccoli
Celery
Capsicum
Any other vegies that you like
Bean sprouts
Baby prawns (in a can)

In Asian cooking all measurements of ingredients are negotiable.

Preparation

Cook 2 cups of rice in 1 tsp chicken stock and ½ tsp soy sauce (don’t make it too moist).

Marinate meat in 1 tsp ginger, pepper, 2 tsp soy sauce and 1 tsp teriyaki sauce. You can add garlic here if you like it.

Chop the 2 Chinese sausages and bacon rashes – set aside.

Chop the vegies and set aside.

Wash bean sprouts and drain.

Drain the can of prawns.

Cooking

Fry all the meats and onion in 1-tablespoon sesame oil.

Then add the vegies.

Then add the rice with a bit of pepper, shake of chicken stock and 1 tsp soy sauce.

Then add bean sprouts and 2 tablespoons baby prawns.
